Outside of the classroom, my attention is focused on pedagogy and seeking outlets for my creative skills.
Following the 2020 pivot to online teaching and our subsequent return to in-person teaching, I am interested in incorporating hybrid practices into my classes. I strive to retain what worked well from online course delivery into traditional in-person courses.
As an experienced user of Adobe Creative Suite applications, I welcome opportunities to combine these skills with my photography.
The National Park Service turned 100 on August 25, 2016 and Elizabethtown College celebrated with a photography exhibit illustrating a century of stewardship of America’s National Parks and engaging communities through recreation, conservation, and historic preservation programs. The exhibit of my photos located in the Baugher Student Center conference room #211 was intended to run through the centennial year until August 2017. Based on positive reception to the exhibit, I was invited to convert the display into a permanent collection sponsored in part by the Momentum 2016 students. The updated exhibit features the images printed on metal.
Sites featured in the photos include Acadia National Park (ME); Badlands National Park (SD); Cape Cod National Seashore (MA); Cape Hatteras National Seashore (NC); Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor (NY); Glacier National Park (MT); Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, The Old Courthouse (MO); Independence National Historic Park, Liberty Bell & Independence Hall (PA); Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail, Pompey’s Pillar National Monument (MT); Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument (MT); Lowell National Historic Park (MA); Mount Rushmore National Memorial (SD); Shenandoah National Park (VA); Wrangell – St. Elias National Part & Preserve (AK); Yellowstone National Park (ID, MT, WY).

Based on positive response to the Celebrating 100 Years of Our National Parks photography exhibit (2016), Dr. Kyle Kopko, Assistant Dean for Academic Achievement and Engagement, and Honors Program Director, invited me to create an exhibit of photographs to be displayed in the Honors Lounge. In keeping with Elizabethtown College’s theme of “Take Flight” a series of colorful hot air balloon photographs that I took at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta were selected. The photographs were printed on metal and hung as a semi-permanent collection in the Honors Lounge.
